Annexation and City Zoning Designation

The City of Irrigon Planning Commission will hold the following hearing at 6:00 p.m., July 9, 2026, at City Hall located at 500 NE Main Avenue, Irrigon, Oregon. Information to join by Zoom will be available on the City’s website. Because this is a Type IV review process, two hearings are required. A second hearing will be in front of Irrigon City Council and will be held on July 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Requested Land Use Action: Annexation of a parcel and city zoning designation.  The parcel considered for annexation is Tax Lot 400 of Assessor’s Map 5N-26-24DB. This property is contiguous within the city limit boundary as a single-family residence. Upon annexation, the Irrigon City Council will formally apply a City zoning designation of Residential (R). This is a Type IV review process, and the applicable approval criteria are outlined in Chapter 4F of the Irrigon Development Code.

Opportunity to voice support or opposition to the above proposal or ask questions will be provided. Failure to raise an issue in person or by letter, or failure to provide sufficient specificity to afford the decision-maker an opportunity to respond to the issue, precludes appeal to the Irrigon City Council and the Land Use Board of Appeals based on those issues.

Copies of the staff report, and all relevant documents will be available after June 26, 2026.  For more information or to review the application or the applicable criteria, please contact Aaron Palmquist at 541-922-3047 or manager@ci.irrigon.or.us.
